AION 2 Field Guide

Brawler is the ninth class and the one with the least settled answer. It was added in a regional update that also raised the level cap to 50, and community class indexes currently tag it as available on the Korea and Taiwan clients only. Because the global client had not shipped at the time of writing, treat any global Brawler build guide you find as unverified until NCSOFT confirms it, and read the class list with that caveat in mind.

PlaystyleFast close-range combos, mobility, counter pressure
Mastery CurveModerate
Client StatusKorea and Taiwan clients; global availability not confirmed

✓Tactical Strengths

  • Fast close-range combos that reward aggressive play on the Korea and Taiwan clients
  • Mobility tools that keep it attached to a target that is trying to disengage
  • A distinct melee feel compared with Gladiator and Assassin

!Tactical Weaknesses

  • Global availability is not confirmed, so a global build plan is speculative
  • Melee range with a durability profile that is closer to Assassin than to Templar
  • Very little verified English documentation compared with the eight launch classes

In a group

On the clients where it exists, Brawler fills a melee damage slot with more mobility than Gladiator. On the global client the slot does not exist yet.

Leveling experience

No global leveling data is published. Anyone writing a step-by-step global Brawler route at this point is extrapolating from the Korea and Taiwan clients, and you should read it that way.

Daevanion priority

Regional Brawler Daevanion planning is reported from the Korea and Taiwan clients. Do not spend global resources on a Brawler tree until the class is confirmed for your client.

Before you commit to Brawler

Two checks are worth doing before you invest a season of playtime. First, confirm the class is on the client you actually play, because availability is not identical across regions. Second, decide whether you care more about solo kill speed or about being wanted by a group, since those two preferences point at different classes and the decision is much cheaper now than after fifty levels of Daevanion investment.

If you are still choosing, read the class index for the full roster and the tier list page for how community reporting groups the roles. Both pages name their sources so you can check the reasoning rather than take a ranking on faith.
